ASP CORPORAL CHARGED WITH DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED ON DUTY, PLACED ON ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE

MONTICELLO, Ark. — Arkansas State Police (ASP) Corporal John M. Parker was arrested on August 21, 2026, after a single-vehicle wreck he had on duty and in his ASP vehicle.

The wreck occurred at about 7:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 278 near Monticello. Parker was not injured.

Parker, 45, of Camden, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated/Drugs and Careless and Prohibited Driving after Standardized Field Sobriety Tests indicated impairment.

Parker was transported to the Drew County Detention Center. ASP has placed Parker on administrative leave, pending the outcome of an internal investigation conducted by the ASP Office of Professional Standards.

Parker was hired by ASP in 2014.
