ASP CID INVESTIGATING FATAL SHOOTING IN MADISON COUNTY

August 31, 2026

HUNTSVILLE, Ark.  —  On Friday, August 28, 2026, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) requested assistance from the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) with a death investigation.

On that date, MCSO deputies responded around 4:15 a.m. to a reported shooting in the 200 block of Madison County Road 2361. Upon arrival, deputies located Darrell Napolitano, 22, of Huntsville, deceased at the scene.

Joshua Napolitano, 22, also of Huntsville, was taken into custody at the scene. He was transported to the Madison County Detention Center before being transferred to the Benton County Detention Center.

Joshua Napolitano is being held on charges of First-Degree Murder.

The deceased will be transferred to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the manner and cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing. No additional information is being released at this time.
